Frequently Asked Questions

What is Public Employee Retirement Training (P.E.R.T.)?

P.E.R.T. is an educational company founded by public employees. P.E.R.T.'s mission is to help public employees better understand the big financial picture when it comes to retirement planning, achieve financial wellness, and avoid the common pitfalls of retirement planning. P.E.R.T. is NOT a financial product, insurance company, or investment firm. We have no financial products to sell and do NOT recommend any specific financial products. All of P.E.R.T.'s educational courses are purely educational and contain unbiased information on topics such as pensions, social security, qualified retirement plans, estate & legacy planning, income planning, insurance, how to choose a financial advisor and more. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge necessary to be able to implement the correct strategies and plans for your situation.

Do I need to be located in a specific state to enroll in the Retirement Roadmap for Teachers and School & University Employees?

No, you can be located anywhere. This course is available online and on-demand through your own e-learning portal.

When and how will I get access?

You will get access immediately after purchase. You will access your membership through an online e-learning portal. You will receive an email with instructions to create your membership account which you will have lifetime access to.

Does the course expire?

No. The P.E.R.T. Retirement Roadmap is designed as a "learn at your own pace" course with unlimited, life-time access to the program - including updates and new bonuses!

Are there updates added to the course?

Yes! Periodic updates are made to the course to ensure that you have the most up-to-date information at your fingertips. These updates could include legislative changes, changes in IRS rules or guidelines, and the addition of new lessons. Once you complete your enrollment, you have a lifetime access membership and will receive all updates and new lessons.

Why do I need P.E.R.T.? Doesn't anyone at my school district, college or university teach this material?

Unfortunately, no. Typically the only individuals that teachers and school & university employees have access to are sales representatives from different financial product vendors. They will often buy you lunch or give out pens and other goodies. However, these representatives do not provide education on the vast array of topics that are in the P.E.R.T. Retirement Roadmap - in fact that is why we created it! The objective of these financial product representatives is to drive enrollments into their respective company's products, not provide you with education on retirement planning and financial wellness so that you can secure your future.

Can I hire a financial advisor to teach me this information?

Maybe. Not all financial advisors are created equal. Many advisors are product driven rather than education driven because after all, they do not get compensated to educate you. Also, not all financial advisors are created equal. In fact, some use that title incorrectly. There are lessons within the P.E.R.T. Retirement Roadmap that explain what to look for in a financial advisor, what questions to ask them before hiring them, and what their function is as a part of your retirement and financial plan.

How does the cost of a P.E.R.T. lifetime membership compare to the cost of a financial plan or consultation with a financial advisor?

The current price to enroll to gain lifetime access in the P.E.R.T. Retirement Roadmap with all member bonuses is currently about 1/4 to 1/5 of the price of a 1-2 page financial plan and 60 minute meeting with a financial professional. A one-time financial plan and meeting will cost you 4X to 5X of what a lifetime Retirement Roadmap membership will cost.

Our members also have access to advisors who ONLY work with teachers & public employees and are very well versed in what their specific needs and concerns are. Which of those options provides greater value to you?

Can the P.E.R.T. Retirement Roadmap be offered to my entire school district, college or university as a formal training?

Yes! Have a representative from your district, college or university reach out to retirement@publicemployeeretirementtraining.com.

Can I become a P.E.R.T. affiliate?

Yes. You can register to become a P.E.R.T. affiliate HERE.

What is P.E.R.T.'s Refund Policy?

Unfortunately, we are unable to issue any refunds once membership enrollment has been completed and paid. However, once enrolled, there are never any on-going fees or expenses as your membership is valid for life after the one-time payment.

Who can I contact for assistance or if I have a question?
